Phone Bhoot is an Indian supernatural comedy about two horror-film addicts, Major and Gullu, who steal an idea from a female spirit to set up a ghost-capturing service. The film is in Hindi with English subtitles.

Themes

The film contains frequent examples of supernatural themes and characters, with some instances of horror imagery in the form of masks and costumes. There are several examples of mild crude humour. The film also contains brief verbal references to the suicidal intentions of a character, although there is no depiction of suicide and the character is quickly revealed to be a ghost.

Violence

The film contains scenes of slapstick violence, sometimes using sticks and other implements.

Sex

There are examples of sexualised imagery in musical numbers, as well as mild verbal sexual references and a scene in which a car with steamed-up windows rocks from side to side as hands press against the glass from inside.

Language

There is a partially obscured use of the word 'f**k', as well as several uses of 'ass', 'screwed' and 'shit'.

Drug use

The film contains a comedic sequence in which characters ingest a green pill, clearly indicated to be made from imaginary and supernatural ingredients, but which mimics a drug-like effect.
