The film is a modified version of the previously classified film Chopper, a grimly comedic Australian drama about the standover man, repentant underworld executioner and inventive raconteur, Mark Brandon 'Chopper' Read. The film is accompanied by a featurette titled A Ripping Good Yarn featuring interviews with Read and behind the scenes footage from the making of the film.

Themes

The film includes a scene in which Chopper orders a man to slice his ears off and the procedure is viewed in close-up detail. There are also frequent depictions of casual violence in which ‘friends’ in the criminal underworld inflict bloody injuries on each other.

Violence

There are scenes of knife and gun violence that feature blood sprays, large pools of blood and depictions of gory injury detail.

Sex

There are sexual references including use of the word “f**k” in a sexual context.

Language

The film includes use of the word “c**t” in addition to frequent and often aggressive use of the word “f**k”.

Drug use

There are depictions of intravenous drug use including a close-up of a woman spraying a liquid drug from a syringe into her mouth. There are also references to the use of heroin and speed.

Nudity

A man unzips his pants and exposes his penis in a bar.
