The summer holidays are here and there are loads of new release computer games for families to play together!
Classification ratings and consumer advice may help you choose a game for you, young children and teenagers to play.
Below is a list of some of the latest release children's and family-friendly games.

A 3D sports game in which players can choose to play either as a pre-made tennis star player character or using a custom-made character with the aim of winning tennis matches against other players or artificial-intelligence opponents in a variety of game-modes including Australian Open, AO2: Academy, Scenario, Career, Online, Play Now and Tutorial. The game contains online interactivity in the form of a player-versus-player multiplayer mode, voice chat, leader boards and user-generated content.

A space-adventure sandbox game in which players take the role of astronauts who explore planets throughout space. The game has online interactivity in the form of emote-chat and shared user-generated content.
G – Mild fantasy violence
An action-adventure role playing game where the player takes on the role of a cat battling in a war between cat and dog nations. The game has no online interactivity.
CRASH™ TEAM RACING NITRO-FUELED
G – General, online interactivity
Crash™ Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is a cart racing game. The main aim of the game is to be the quickest and win the race. Online interactivity includes racing opponents in a friendly kart race or battle mode.
DR KAWASHIMA’S BRAIN TRAINING FOR NINTENDO SWITCH
G – Very mild themes, online interactivity
A game composed of a collection of challenging interactive maths, language and memory tests developed by Dr Ryuta Kawashima. The main aim is to help develop a healthy brain by practising cognitive tasks regularly, thereby increasing performance in tests of mental agility. The game contains online interactivity in the form of score board comparisons with friends (this feature may be switched off).
G - Very mild themes and coarse language, online interactivity and in-game purchases
A soccer simulation game in which players can choose from over 600 real teams and play in numerous different game modes. The game contains online interactivity in the form of multiplayer modes and downloadable content. It also contains in-game purchases – players can spend real-world money to purchase better players and other items.

A football (soccer) management simulation game allowing you to take control of a football team from season to season. The game has online capabilities in the form of multiplayer modes and text chat.

A dinosaur-themed adventure game that combines exploration, puzzles and racing. The game has no online interactivity.

An adaptation of the TV show “Jeopardy”. Contestants are asked general knowledge trivia questions to solve with clues displayed in text boxes. Players buzz in to answer the questions, if answered correctly the player wins prize money, but if answered incorrectly, the player loses the prize money. The game contains online interactivity in the form of online multiplayer mode.

A dancing simulation game in which players learn and perform dancing steps by following the dancing coaches on screen. The game has online interactivity in the form of: sharing dance videos within the Just Dance Community and on Facebook; competing with players from across the world in a single game session; Dancer of the Week spotlights; and the game’s ‘Home Page’ which highlight’s specific dancing content.
MARIO & SONIC AT THE OLYMPIC GAMES TOKYO 2020
G – Very mild violence, online interactivity
A multi-event fantasy sports game based on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics featuring characters from the Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog franchises. Players compete in 21 modified sports events as well as 10 events or mini-games styled with 8-bit graphics to represent the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. The game contains online interactivity in the form of multiplayer matches.

A truck-driving simulator in which the player controls trucks, 4WDs and other vehicles in a variety of extreme situations such as mud and snow. The game has online interactivity in the form of multiplayer modes.

A train simulation game in which the player drives trains of their choosing across different locations. The game has online interactivity in the form of DLC which gives players the ability to purchase further trains, tracks and scenarios. The 2020 game includes a new route to the two pre-existing routes.

A simulation television show game in which the player solves word puzzles to win prize money. The game contains online interactivity in the form of multiplayer mode to play against other players online.

A winter resort simulation game in which the player operates a winter resort, tracks its finances and engages in activities such as skiing. The game has no online interactivity.
PG – Mild themes and violence
A cartoon-style game in which the player takes the role of a young girl, Hat Kid, who must collect hourglasses (Called Time Pieces) scattered across an alien planet to power her spaceship in order to fly home.

A role playing game set in Netherworld in which the player assumes the role of the vampire Valvatore.

A game where players can get new TSUMs using coins that can be collected by playing a puzzle game and ten party games. Online interactivity includes matching or co-op with players worldwide and worldwide ranking for each game.

An action role-playing game in which the player controls characters from the Dragon Ball Z universe as they partake in various quests and side stories. The game has no online interactivity.

There are 2 versions of this game: one with online interactivity in the form of multiplayer co-operative modes, and another for Nintendo Switch with no online interactivity. It is a third-person, action adventure game in which players battle to escape the fantasy world of Jumanji by recovering and returning the jewels to their rightful places.
PG – Mild coarse language, online interactivity
A karaoke-style game in which the player must sing the correct lyrics and melody along with music video clips of popular contemporary music. The game includes online interactivity in the form of multiplayer co-op and challenge modes.
PG – Mild supernatural themes, online interactivity
An action/adventure game where the player must save Luigi’s friends from the evil within The Last Resort hotel. The online modes can support up to 8 players and are unique challenges not found in the main story mode.

A top down 3D isometric game in which the player must negotiate a series of randomly generated puzzles and find treasures. The game contains online interactivity whereby up to four players can join together in a game and work together through the puzzles.
PG – Mild fantasy themes and violence
A platformer and puzzle-solving game, in which a young fox, Lucky, attempts to rescue his sister and friends from an evil cat, Jinx. The game contains no online interactivity.
POKEMON SWORD and POKEMON SHIELD
PG – Mild violence, online interactivity
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield have the same core gameplay and storyline. They are role-playing games where the player takes control of a young Pokémon Trainer with dreams to become the next Pokémon Champion. The games have an online feature called Y-Comm to connect with players locally or around the world and for some in-game features including trading and battling Pokémon with other players.
PG – Mild fantasy violence
A compilation of five action platforming games in which the player assumes the role of a knight (Shovel Knight, Plague Knight, Specter [sic] Knight or King Knight) and navigates platform-based stages, collecting treasure and battling fantasy enemies such as bugs, gryphons, skeletons and wizards on the way. The five included games are: Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope, Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows, Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment, Shovel Knight: King of Cards and Shovel Knight Showdown. The game contains no online interactivity.
PG - Mild fantasy violence
A deck-building card game with a turn-based combat mechanism in which the player engages in card battles with fantasy creatures in order to advance through a medieval tower.
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: LINK'S AWAKENING
PG – Mild fantasy violence
A remake of the fourth game in the Zelda series. The game follows Link as he searches dungeons and battles monsters, solving puzzles in search of eight musical instruments, which will allow him to awaken the sleeping whale-like deity, Wind Fish.
PG - Mild violence, online interactivity
A massive multiplayer online naval battle simulation game, in which the player recruits famous commanders and ships to create their own fleet. The game contains online interactivity in the form of co-operative and competitive modes.
M – Mature themes, violence and coarse language, online interactivity
An open world racing game. The main goals are to win races to raise reputation, earn in-game money, raise heat and purchase better parts for the vehicle. The game contains online interactivity including playing against others, joining social crews and communicating via VOIP.
