Minister approves new Amazon Classification Tool

On 5 September 2024, the Minister for Communications approved the Amazon Classification Tool (Tool) for use in Australia.

The Tool will streamline the process of classifying films, series and episodes to make them available for Australian audiences on Prime Video. The Tool generate ratings and consumer advice in line with Australian classification guidelines, enabling viewers to make informed decisions about what to watch.

By implementing this tool, Prime Video will efficiently meet its regulatory obligations while offering a diverse range of programming to its Australian audience.

The department and the Australian Classification Board will monitor the performance of the Tool.
