Classification fee review

The Department of Communications and the Arts is conducting a review of the fees charged for classification services, including the provision of classification training.

The Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Act 1995 requires that applications for classification must be accompanied by the prescribed fee.  The fees for services provided by the Classification Board and the Classification Review Board are set in the Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Regulations 2005.

The Cost Recovery Impact Statements (CRIS) that provide clients with information on how the current fees are calculated. The CRIS for Classification Fees and Classification Training Fees are available on the classification website at http://www.classification.gov.au/About/Pages/Legislation.aspx#cris.
