Advertising Markings on unclassified Films and Computer Games
Advertising for an unclassified film or computer game must display an "advertising message".
The requirement to display an advertising message applies to print and electronic film directories and a range of advertising including print, moving image, internet and cinema trailers. Information about how to use advertising markings correctly is available in the compliance section of this website.
The advertising message is coloured orange. There are short and long versions of the advertising message. The examples below display advertising message markings:
Long Message:
The message appears with the text “Check the Classification”

Advertising message downloads
A short message download is available as follows:
- The short advertising message will always appear as the letters CTC. Short advertising message (for print and internet advertising) can be downloaded in EPS colour [EPS 493KB] and EPS mono [EPS 485KB] formats.
Different versions of the long advertising message have been created to assist industry and are available as follows:
- long advertising message box (for print and internet advertising) can be downloaded in EPS colour [EPS 498KB] and EPS mono [EPS 495KB] formats, and
- 10 second ticker (for internet and mobile phone advertising) can be either static or animated.
The ticker is available to download in three formats (you will require an application that can open PSD files such as Photoshop).
